Welcome to the Belgian Presidency of the EU
Belgium took over the six month rotating presidency of the EU on 1 July. Certain priorities have been identified, as part of a joint 18 month programme with Spain and Hungary. These are socio-economic issues including a package of measures to increase the surveillance of financial markets, promote green jobs, innovation and the transition to a "green knowledge economy"; social issues including services of general interest and pension reform; environment and climate change including the use of taxation; justice and home affairs including the mutual recognition of court rulings; and external relations. There are opportunities for property professionals today in the internal market of the European Union to develop and offer their services in different countries. CEPI in Finland: a colorful trip
If most of us are enjoying holidays in July and August, others take advantage of this calmer period to participate in a summer course, put the finishing touches to contracts, update their administrative work or prepare a project for September. The CEPI, CEAB and EPAG Presidents decided to gather together and enjoy the summer sun on an island from the Saima lakes in Finland, island that would be nearly deserted if Timo Multanen would not have had the excellent idea to have his summer residence there.
